Instead of using your dishwasher's drying function, turn off the appliance after final rinse, prop open the door, and allow the dishes to air dry. (On some models, you can just switch off the dish dryer.)

Gain access to fresh, local, organic food by joining a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in your area. Use a search engine to find a CSA program near you.
Consider phasing in vegetarian meals. Start with one per week and then ratchet it up as you become more comfortable with meat-free cooking.
Compost HeapStarting a compost heap in your back yard is a great way to help save the environment! A typical household produces 2/3 of a ton of waste each year which could be composted.
Eat local, organic, GE-free food ... the trinity of green eating. Stick to this simple formula, and you'll go a long way towards cutting down greenhouse gas emissions, reducing the use of toxic chemicals and supporting local agriculture.
